Dr Pepper Makes an Impact on Students’ Lives
Dr Pepper and college football have been going hand-in-hand for nearly two decades, and in 2008 the brand began impacting college and college-bound students’ lives as part of the Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway. Since then, Dr Pepper has given away millions of dollars in tuition, helping students achieve their goals despite the challenges of rising tuition costs and studying full-time.
From its not-so-humble beginnings as a football toss competition at the halftime of three conference championship games, the Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway has culminated to become a multi-winner, highly social and rewarding opportunity for students 18 and older. Nikki Boon, a 2010 grand-prize winner, earned her college degree in May. In 2011, Ivon Rodriguez-Padilla stated, "Dr Pepper is seriously the best thing that's ever happened to me," after winning $100,000 in tuition. Last year, Garrett Booker set a record by tossing 20 footballs in an oversized Dr Pepper can replica in just 30 seconds before securing the grand prize.
This year, you’ll see several 2012 winners on limited-edition cans, bottles and packages of Dr Pepper, Diet Dr Pepper, Dr Pepper TEN, Dr Pepper Cherry and Diet Dr Pepper Cherry, and students between the ages of 18-24 can tell Dr Pepper their one of a kind story to enter for the chance to compete to win up to $100,000 in tuition.
Are you older than 24 but still looking for help with tuition? We have you covered! You’re eligible to compete for the leaderboard prize of $10,000 in tuition. Submit your story and collect votes via Facebook for a chance to win. Plus, if you know a student with a one of a kind story, you can nominate them by submitting a story on their behalf at www.drpeppertuition.com. And the prizes continue – Dr Pepper will also award daily $1,000 tuition prizes on Twitter for users who tweet with the hashtag #drpeppertuition.
